FROM THE ABSOLUTE ZERO
WHY
Most designers build a brand around a product, a name, a tagline, all already given. I wanted none of that starting point. A blank canvas, product included: something built from zero, tangible, technical, rooted equally in my advertising and Web3 background. It also became proof of something I care about: that generative AI is a tool I direct, not one that directs me.
THE CHALLENGE
Self-custody in crypto has a physical problem most solutions ignore. Cards and devices are easy to lose, awkward to carry, and an obvious target the moment anyone recognizes what they are.

THE IDEA
Decision: I chose a ring. Something already worn, already trusted, already invisible as a target. Not a new object competing for attention, but a familiar one carrying a new function.
THE CRAFT
Most designers stop at the brand. I wanted to go further and engineer the object itself.
Decision: Before a single visual existed, I had to prove Vnode could physically work: a chip and its components fitting inside a ring, communicating with a phone through touch alone, a status light flashing without a battery. Only once that held did design begin: material, finish, sizing, refined through sketches and rounds of 3D renders until the ring felt fully resolved.
Around it, a full brand system for VESSL: identity, typography, colour, icon language, and voice, built with the same rigor as the object itself.
Proof of feasibility.
